The Steps of Peer Review Process
The article sent to As-Shuffah Journal will be checked firstly by the editor in chief in order to determine whether the content of the article is already appropriate with the focus and scope of the journal. If the content of the article is out of the scope, then the editor in chief will directly decline the article.
If the article has already followed the focus and scope of the journal, then the editor in chief will assign the editor to screen the article for plagiarism by using plagiarism checker. If there is much amount of plagiarism happened in the article (more than 20 percents), then the editor will directly reject the article. But if the plagiarism is still considered minor (less than 20 percents) then, the articles will be continued to reviewing process.
The editors will assign two reviewers based on the expertise of the concentration discussed in the article. The reviewers are experts in the field of Islamic Studies. The review process is kind of double-blind peer review where the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors and neither do the reviewers.
The reviews from the two reviewers will be sent to the author. The author has to revise his/ her article based on the feedback from the two reviewers.
After the revision is sent to the journal, the editor together with the other members of editorial board and editor in chief make a decision whether to accept, reject or consider the article to have the second session of reviewing process. The author will be advised when Editors decide further review is needed.
If the article is accepted, the editor will send the Letter of Acceptance to the author through corresponding author
