PUBLICATION ETHICS

As-Shuffah Journal is a peer reviewed journal which is published electronically as well as in printed form. It is published twice a year ( in June and December) by Islamic Study Department of Graduate Study Program, Raden Fatah Islamic State University, Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia. The publication of the article in As-Suffah Journal is kind of collaborations between the author and the journal itself. The author’s article published in As-Shuffah journal is the realization of the author’s knowledge as the representative of his/ her institution which is supported by peer reviewing and editing process ruled by As-Shuffah to ensure the standard of publication committed by As-Shuffah Journal. Therefore, it is necessary to have such kind of agreement upon the standards for all people involved in the process of publication: the author, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, and the publisher

 

Author’s Responsibilities

Article submitted in As-Shuffah Journal must be the original article written by the author. Article submitted in As-Shuffah is article that have never been published in other journals or are not in the process of being reviewed in other journal(s). The content of the article must be accurate. The data presented in the article must be based on actual research data. The concept offered in the article must be based on reputable journals.  The author must do plagiarism screening to his/ her article. The author must cite the sources appropriately based on the sources that he/ she quotes either in the form of written publications and personal interviews.

The author must willing to give the raw data to the editor if it is needed in the process of peer review or even after the publication

The author must notify the editor if there is conflict of interest and must inform the editor if there are some mistakes/ data inaccuracy in the manuscript of the article and correct the article or provide the facts to the editor immediately.

 

Editor’s Responsibilities

The editorial board of As-Shuffah Journal decide the articles submitted in the journal to be accepted or rejected based on the standard committed by all members of editorial board lead by editor in chief and the results of peer review sessions.

The editors in As-Shuffah Journal commit tobe fair to all authors who submit their articles in the journal. Editors should not reject papers based on suspicions, they should have proof of misconduct .

Editors in As-Shuffah Journal make their decisions solely based on the papers’ importance, originality, clarity and relevance to publication’s scope.

Editors will act if they suspect misconduct, whether a paper is published or unpublished, and make all reasonable attempts to persist in obtaining a resolution to the problem.

Each Editor of As-Shuffah Journal is obliged not to give the information about every manuscripts submitted in the journal to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate

 

Reviewer’s Responsibilities

Reviewers of As-Shuffah Journal must keep all information about the submitted manuscript and not give the information to other people. 

All of the reviewers in As-Shuffah Journal must reviews all the articles submitted in the journal objectively by expressing their feedback clearly with supporting arguments.

All of the reviewers in As-Shuffah Journal must identify plagiarism committed by the author who does not cite the reference quoted in the article.

The results of peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the quality of a paper.

All of the reviewers must notify the editor as soon as possible if the assigned article to be reviewed is not appropriate with the background knowledge of the reviewers.

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
