Author Guidelines

Senandika : Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi only accepts manuscripts written both in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Please take the time ro read our guidelines below as part of the submission process to ensure your paper matches the journal's requirements.

1. Author should firstly download the journal template HERE as it can help to follow the journal layout.
2. The manuscript has not been previously published, nor been considered in another journal.
3. The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc).
4. Regarding the bibliography/references, the journal applies APA Style. Therefore, we hope author(s) concern on it. In addition, it is suggested for author(s) to use reference manager tools such as  mendeley or zotero

1) The Manuscript General Guidelines

1. The manuscript is the authentic research result that has not been published yet in other publication media or publishing houses.
2. The manuscript does not contain any plagiarism element. The editorial board will directly reject the text that indicates plagiarism.
3. The submission and the publication processes are free, without any additional fees.
4. The manuscript that has been written under the guidelines of Senandika : Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi (in MS Word format, use this article template) must be submitted through Online Submission System using Open Journal System (OJS)
5. The manuscript which is inappropriate with the Khizanah al-Hikmah's template will be returned to the author before the reviewing process.
6. The manuscript can be written both in Bahasa Indonesia or English with the academic standard language. 
7. The manuscript should consist of 3000 to 6000 words including pictures and tables. 
8. The manuscript is written on A4-sized papers (210x297 mm), with custom margins as follows: left 25 mm, right 20 mm, bottom 20 mm and top 30 mm.
9. The words from uncommon or foreign languages are stated in Italic format. For the article in Bahasa Indonesia, foreign terms or words should be avoided. Each paragraph started 10mm from the left side border while there is no spaces among paragraphs. All numbers are written in Arabic numbering format, except for the new sentence.
10. The tables and pictures are placed in the text group after the referenced tables or pictures. Each picture must be given a caption (Figure Caption) below the picture and be numbered in Arabic numbering format followed by the picture title. Each table must be given a table title (Table Caption) and numbered in Arabic numbering format above the table followed by the table title. 
11. The pictures attachment should be guaranteed that they can be printed well (font size, resolution and line space are clearly seen). The picture, the table, and the chart should be placed in the center between text groups. If it has a bigger size, it can be placed in the center of page. The table should not contain vertical lines, while horizontal lines are allowed only for the important point.

2) The Guidelines for the Manuscript Body Text

Title:  The article’s title is briefly, clearly, and precisely written in English. It is left-aligned with a Title Case format used to suit this template. The title may not contain approximately 12-16 uncommon words using Cambria 14 pt Bold letters with colors according to the template (Blue, Accent 1, darker 25% for MS Word or SteelBlue, Accent 1, Dark Color 25% for WPS Office).

Author's name: The author's name is written without an academic degree using Cambria letters 12 pt Bold with colors according to the template and spaced once. When there is more than one author, the names are separated by commas (,) and do not need to be abbreviated. The author's name is written in one word, while in the online version (HTML), it is written in two words containing the same name (repeated) for metadata indexation purposes. It is also completed with affiliation address and country, written on the right and left alignment of the first page in the footnote using 10 pt Cambria letters (see template).

Abstract and Keywords: The abstract need to contain at least:  a brief description of the background of the research, Purpose (research or article objectives) Method (describes the methods and procedures used to answer the research question) Results (information describing the research findings), and  Conclusions (answers to hypotheses and/or research objectives, or summarizes scientific research findings). Abstract is written in approximately 200-250 words in Cambrian letters 11pt with 1 space and in 1 paragraph. Keywords are mandated to be written below the abstract for each language, arranged in alphabetical order, and separated by a semicolon with 3-5 words according to the format of the writing guidelines.

I. INTRODUCTION (15-20%)

It sequentially contains a general background, previous literature reviews as the basis for a statement of scientific novelty from the article, a novelty statement (state of the art), and research problems or hypotheses. In the end, the objectives of the article are written. There is no literature review in scientific articles as opposed to the research report. For example, the writing format is as follows:

Background. It is followed by a general background explanation.

Problems. It is followed by an explanation of the problems/gaps that need to be addressed.

Previous Literature Review. It is followed by an explanation of at least five previous research studies.

State of The Art. It is followed by a scientific novelty statement.

Purpose. It is followed by the objectives of the research or article.

II. METHODS (10-20%)

This chapter contains an explanation of the techniques used in problem-solving, including the method of analysis. The steps or procedures to be taken in completing the research need to be explained in detail, therefore, when the same steps/procedures are carried out by other people with the same indicators and characteristics of the object, the results differ slightly.

III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (60-70%)

It contains the research findings and scientific discussion, which need to be written down and supported by adequate data. It is not the research data obtained, rather scientific findings are explained scientifically.

Chapter/sub-chapter of Research Results contains at least a paragraph of findings from the selected research indicators. Therefore, it is advisable to complete the research findings data in Illustration Tables/Figures/Photos/Maps with interesting and logical sentences to avoid rewriting the research data. The findings are written in a systematic narrative sequence that leads to objectives, proves hypotheses, theoretical, and answers to the formulation of research questions based on the selected indicators.

Research Indicators 1. It contains an explanation of the results of studies on research indicators 1.

Research Indicators 2. It contains an explanation of the results of studies on research indicators 2.

Other Research Indicators. It is followed by an explanation of the results of the study regarding other research indicators.

Discussion of Research Findings. It describes the main research findings compared to previous literature/references/findings. It is also complemented by a statement that this work includes the characteristics of its new object/technique/method.

Discussion of Other Interesting Findings. It discusses other findings and how they fit into the existing literature, such as those that are as unexpected and interesting. When the research results conflict with what has been suggested in the literature, it is acknowledged in this paragraph with explanations provided based on the method used.  

IV. CONCLUSION (5%)

Conclusions describe the answers to the hypothesis, and research objectives or scientific findings obtained. It does not contain an iteration of the results and discussion, rather a summary of the findings as expected in the goal or hypothesis.  At the end of the conclusion, the authors are also allowed to write down the limitations of the research, plus attributes of further research.

Research Limitations (Disclaimer). It contains the limitations/deficiencies of the research, such as how representative the model is chosen or whether the sample size/location characteristics affect the conclusion when a similar study is conducted, etc.

Future Work. It contains sentences regarding the follow-up of the results obtained with the statement used to expand previous research findings. Add an explanation of the main contributions to the scientific field studied and society in general. Future studies are suggested for preliminary findings. (optional)

V. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Acknowledgments are addressed to research funders and donors or conveyed to those that assisted in carrying out the study.

VI. REFERENCES

All references in the article text (article body) need to be included in the Reference List section, and vice versa. It contains references from primary sources (scientific journals, research reports/proceedings, and a minimum amount of 80% of the entire bibliography) published in the last 10 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 15 (fifteen) lists of assessable primary references (including the DOI / URL of the article). Writing a reference system in the text of the article and a bibliography need to use the Mendeley reference management application program. The writing format used in IJOLIB is in accordance with the APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association) format.

Throughout the manuscript, all citation follows the style of APA 7th Edition, by consistently quoting. Example:
