PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DI KAMPUNG WISATA BEKELIR KELURAHAN BABAKAN KECAMATAN TANGERANG KOTA TANGERANG

Abstract

In an effort to empower the community, the Bekelir Tourism Village management utilizes public facilities along the banks of the Cisadane River. The banks, which were originally city parks to decorate the highway, were turned into trading stalls. These stalls are usually called the culinary stalls of Bekelir Tourism Village. This culinary role plays a role in increasing people's income, and has an impact on improving their daily lives. This is because many tourists come to the tourist village and stop by to buy their wares. This research refers to the following questions; (1) What is the process of community empowerment through Bekelir Tourism Village, Babakan Village, Tangerang City (2) What are the functions and benefits of community empowerment through culinary stalls in Bekelir Tourism Village, Babakan Village, Tangerang City; and (3) How the Bekelir Tourism Village empowers its people. The results showed that the culinary stalls of Bekelir Tourism Village became additional income for the community without leaving their main job. Community empowerment in Bekelir Tourism Village basically involves the active role of the people who are there in order to create an independent and sustainable tourist village. These stalls become the culinary center of tourism and become an opportunity for the community to simply taste their products. The community also understands that tourism is a promising source of additional income if it is developed and used properly, so that this activity can further develop in the community.
