Jurnal Ilmu Agama: Mengkaji Doktrin, Pemikiran, dan Fenomena Agama is a Scientific Journal published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought, Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang. Since 2013, the Journal of Religious Studies has begun to be produced through the Open Journal System (OJS) from volume 14 No. 1 with e-ISSN 2549-4260, previously only produced in the form of a printed journal, with ISSN: 2443-0919. At that time, the Journal was managed by Deddy Ilyas, Iredho Fani Reza, Zaki Faddad Syarif Zain and several other teams. 

Articles that can be published in the Jurnal Ilmu Agama: Mengkaji Doktrin, Pemikiran, dan Fenomena Agama are articles from empirical research (quantitative or qualitative approaches), literature studies or thought studies that are seen as contributing to the development of religious knowledge, especially those related to Islamic sciences. Qur'an and Tafsir, hadith, creed, kalam, Islamic philosophy, Sufism, and the study of religions. The main target audience for this journal are lecturers, academics, practitioners, postgraduate students, and other professionals who are interested in Religious Studies.

Starting from the publication of the 17th volume No. 2 of 2016, manuscript articles published in the Journal of Religious Studies: Reviewing Doctrine, Thought, and Religious Phenomena are only eight (8) articles, previously in volume 14 No.1 of 2013 to volume 17 No. 1 2016 there are ten (10) articles and there are nine (9) articles. The change from 10 articles to 8 articles was based on the desire to improve the quality of the articles, because a selection process was carried out for the articles submitted. S

The struggle carried out by the Jurnal Ilmu Agama: Mengkaji Doktrin, Pemikiran, dan Fenomena Agama has yielded results indexed by SINTA 5 in 2018. Based on the understanding on the Ristekdikti website, that SINTA (Science and Technology Index) is a portal that contains measurements of science and technology performance which includes the performance of researchers, writers, writers, the performance of journals and the performance of science and technology institutions. Not only SINTA 5, Jurnal Ilmu Agama: Mengkaji Doktrin, Pemikiran, dan Fenomena Agama is also indexed by Google Scholar, GARUDA and others (viewable on the Indexing page).

At the beginning of January 2023, the Jurnal Ilmu Agama: Mengkaji Doktrin, Pemikiran, dan Fenomena Agama has been repaired and updated, both from the management team that was previously managed by Yulian Rama Pri Handiki, and now chaired by Eko Zulfikar as Editor in Chief, as well as related OJS journals such as improvements and updates to the appearance of the website and also the article templates used. Because the Jurnal Ilmu Agama is currently being improved and making many changes, the next target of the Jurnal Ilmu Agama is to get SINTA 2 or SINTA 3.
