Strategi Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Islam Berbasis Karakter di MTs Nahdlatul Ulama Sumber Agung OKU Timur

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam strategi yang diterapkan oleh kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan Islam berbasis karakter di MTs Nahdlatul Ulama Sumber Agung, Kabupaten OKU Timur. Dalam konteks pendidikan modern yang menuntut integrasi antara kecakapan akademik dan pembentukan kepribadian, kepala madrasah memiliki peran strategis sebagai pemimpin spiritual dan manajerial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala madrasah, guru, siswa, dan komite sekolah, serta dokumentasi kegiatan madrasah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala madrasah menerapkan lima strategi utama, yaitu: (1) penguatan visi dan budaya madrasah yang Islami dan berkarakter; (2) integrasi nilai-nilai karakter dalam kurikulum dan pembelajaran; (3) pemberdayaan guru sebagai figur teladan; (4) pengembangan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler religius; serta (5) kolaborasi aktif dengan orang tua dan komite madrasah. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan strategi meliputi komitmen religius kepala madrasah dan guru, budaya masyarakat yang religius, serta dukungan organisasi Nahdlatul Ulama. Sementara itu, tantangan yang dihadapi mencakup keterbatasan anggaran, keberagaman latar belakang siswa, dan keterbatasan pelatihan karakter bagi guru. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan yang visioner, religius, dan kolaboratif menjadi kunci utama dalam mewujudkan madrasah yang unggul secara akademik dan unggul dalam karakter.
