ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA DAN KOMPOSISI FOTOGRAFI PADA AKUN INSTAGRAM GEO NUSANTARA

Abstract

This research is entitled "Semiotics Analysis and Photographic Composition on the Instagram Geo Nusantara Account." Photos are part ofvisual communication in which photos contain meaning and messages. Photos have the purpose of conveying information to other parties through image media that can only be read by sight. To create meaningful photos, in the process oftaking pictures, ofcourse, a photographic composition is applied, by arranging the elements in an image which include lines, shapes, colors, light and dark in order to produce the ability to tell stories through photos. The research object is a photo consisting of 6 October edition photos on the Geonusantara Instagram account. The purpose of this study was to determine the semiotic analysis contained in photos on the Geo Nusantara Instagram account with Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory and to find out the composition applied to photos on the Geo Nusantara Instagram account. This type of research is qualitative research. Based on the analysis that has been carried out on the research object, the researcher has analyzed each photo with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis theory in which there are 3 stages, namely denotation, connotation and myth. In the photographic composition of photos, these photos apply different formats and types of composition. Some of these compositions are Rule of Thirds, Motion Blur, Perspective, Golden Ratio,Golden Triangle, Depth of Field (DOF),Symmetry, Reflection, and Framing. The five photos are in portrait format and only one photo is in landscape format.
