Abstract

Infaq and sadaqah are fundamental pillars of Islamic philanthropy that not only derive from religious teachings, but also function as instruments to combat social injustice and poverty. Although students demonstrate a high enthusiasm for charitable giving, their practice tends to be inconsistent and often limited to specific occasions. Previous studies have predominantly focused on the macro aspects of Islamic philanthropy, while research on micro-level determinants that shape individual awareness remains limited. This study aims to analyze the psychological, social, religious, and economic determinants influencing students' awareness of infaq and sadaqah. A quantitative approach is employed by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), altruism theory, and social identity theory to develop a comprehensive analytical framework. Awareness is measured through cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The findings are expected to contribute theoretically to the literature on Islamic philanthropy from an individual behavior perspective, and practically serve as a basis for educational institutions and philanthropic organizations in designing strategies to enhance awareness and participation of university students in infaq and sadaqah activities.
