Abstract

This study examines modern zakat management in Indonesia during the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 eras, where zakat collection realization is still far from national potential due to low zakat literacy, limited public trust in zakat institutions, and conventional management systems. The study aims to analyze the synergistic role of institutions (BAZNAS and LAZ), regulations (Law No. 23 of 2011), and digital innovations based on fintech, blockchain, and digital payment platforms within the framework of Islamic Social Finance to optimize wealth redistribution and empower the people's economy. A descriptive qualitative approach using library research methods collected data from national and international journal literature, laws and regulations, and official documents related to the 2021-2025 period, analyzed through content analysis and thematic synthesis. The results show that digitalization significantly improves operational efficiency in fundraising, transparency in real-time reporting via an online dashboard, and the effectiveness of productive zakat for the independence of mustahik (recipients of zakat). Although challenges related to rural digital literacy, data security, and institutional human resource readiness still hamper its equitable implementation.
