This research aims to determine the effect of the teams games tournament (TGT) learning model in improving the writing skills of class IX MBS Yogyakarta students. This research is quantitative research with a variety of experimental research using quasi-experimental methods. Data collection methods are carried out using observation, documentation and tests. The test method used is a written test in the form of a pretest at the beginning and a posttest at the end. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the teams games tournament (TGT) learning model in learning to write in class IX MBS Yogyakarta. This is proven by the results of the Wilcoxon test in the experimental class which shows that Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) is worth 0.001. Because the value 0.001 is smaller than <0.05, it can be concluded that "Ha is accepted". This means that there is a difference between the learning outcomes for the pre and post tests so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the teams games tournament (TGT) learning model in improving the writing skills of class IX MBS Yogyakarta students.
