This study aims to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in Arabic language learning to improve the reading skill (maharah qiro’ah) of seventh-grade students at MTs Zia Salsabila Bandar Setia, Deli Serdang. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with Arabic language teachers and seventh-grade students as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the application of Discovery Learning encouraged students to be more active in reading texts, finding word meanings, engaging in discussions, and drawing conclusions. Teachers acted as facilitators, guiding students to construct their own understanding. Despite challenges such as limited vocabulary and restricted learning time, the model proved to enhance student participation, independence, and comprehension of texts. Therefore, Discovery Learning is effective in Arabic language learning, particularly in improving students’ reading skill.
