Analisis Kesulitan Siswa dalam Memahami Qawā‘id Bahasa Arab dalam Pembelajaran di MTsN 4 Kota Surabaya

This study aims to analyze the difficulties students face in understanding Arabic grammar at MTsN 4 Surabaya. Grammar learning difficulties often become a major obstacle in mastering the Arabic language holistically. This research adopted a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were eighth-grade students and Arabic language teachers. The findings reveal that the main difficulties lie in understanding sentence structures, the use of ḍamīr (pronouns), and word form changes based on nahwu and ṣarf rules. Contributing factors include limited vocabulary mastery, lack of contextual practice, and traditional teaching methods. The study concludes that innovation in instructional approaches, the use of interactive media, and intensive training in grammar comprehension are essential to improve students’ Arabic language proficiency.
