Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kontribusi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam membentuk kepribadian santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Busyra, sekaligus mengidentifikasi upaya yang dilakukan serta kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses pembinaan santri. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian meliputi pengasuh pesantren, ustadz/ustadzah, santri, serta pihak terkait di lingkungan pesantren. Data dianalisis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi, disertai uji keabsahan melalui triangulasi, perpanjangan pengamatan, dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi PAI dalam pembentukan kepribadian santri tampak pada penanaman nilai-nilai keagamaan, pengembangan akhlak mulia, pembentukan kepribadian islami, penguatan identitas keagamaan, serta penguatan kemandirian dan tanggung jawab. Upaya yang ditempuh pesantren meliputi penguatan pembelajaran agama, pembiasaan akhlak, keteladanan pengasuh dan guru, pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, serta evaluasi dan bimbingan santri secara berkala. Kendala utama yang muncul adalah rendahnya kesadaran sebagian santri terhadap aturan, pengaruh eksternal seperti media dan lingkungan luar pesantren, perbedaan pola asuh orang tua, hambatan komunikasi santri dengan kepengurusan/pengasuh, serta faktor internal santri seperti motivasi dan disiplin yang beragam. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa PAI berperan sentral dalam pembinaan kepribadian santri, namun efektivitasnya membutuhkan sinergi pembinaan pesantren, kontrol sosial yang konsisten, serta dukungan keluarga dan lingkungan.
