Strategi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII B di SMP Negeri 6 Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII B pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMP Negeri 6 Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, yang tampak pada rendahnya fokus belajar, kedisiplinan kelas, serta kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap strategi guru PAI dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, mengidentifikasi kendala yang memengaruhi motivasi, serta mendeskripsikan metode penyampaian materi yang digunakan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, guru PAI, siswa, dan pengelola perpustakaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta diuji keabsahannya dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi guru PAI dilakukan melalui penguatan nilai religius (menekankan pentingnya PAI untuk kehidupan dunia-akhirat), penyampaian kisah keteladanan, pemberian penguatan positif melalui apresiasi nilai, serta motivasi verbal yang mendorong semangat belajar. Kendala utama meliputi metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif dan keterbatasan sumber belajar. Temuan ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya inovasi strategi pembelajaran PAI yang lebih interaktif dan dukungan fasilitas belajar agar pembelajaran lebih bermakna dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa secara berkelanjutan.
