IMPLEMENTASI STRATEGI TIGA DIMENSI ESOSIS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA

Abstract

Every member of society must have an interest in reading, not only those who are involved in education, because books are a window to the world. But it's a shame that reading interest in Indonesia is still relatively low. Therefore, libraries need to make innovations so that libraries can help increase the reading interest index of people in Indonesia. One of the methods used by the SMA Plus Negeri 17 Palembang Library is by implementing 3 strategies which are acronymized as ESOSIS, namely Educative, Sosiocultural, and Psychological. This strategy is called the THREE DIMENSIONAL STRATEGIES OF ESOSIS. This strategy is said to be dimensional because the three strategies are closely related which form a system to foster interest in reading among students of SMA Plus Negeri 17 Palembang. Based on the results obtained from the implementation of the three-dimensional ESOSIS strategy, there was an increase in activity in the library, both in terms of the number and duration of user visits, the number of books borrowed, the number of types of scientific books borrowed, and the use of library facilities. Thus it can be stated that the library plays an optimal role in carrying out informative, educative, research/research, and recreational functions. This also means that there is an increase in students' reading interest in scientific book collectios.
