Challenges and Solutions in Islamic Education Management in the Modern Era

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges in Islamic education management in the modern era and present solutions based on a literature review. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various academic sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and official documents. The findings indicate that the main challenges in Islamic education management include the utilization of technology, the development of a relevant curriculum, the strengthening of human resources, and the implementation of governance based on good governance principles. The digitalization of learning offers opportunities for innovation, but the digital divide remains a barrier. The Islamic education curriculum needs to integrate religious knowledge with 21st-century competencies to remain relevant to global needs. Strengthening human resources through teacher training and certification, as well as visionary leadership, plays a crucial role in improving the quality of Islamic education. Additionally, the application of good governance principles, such as transparency and accountability, contributes to the effective management of educational institutions. Proposed solutions include improving digital infrastructure, developing an integrated knowledge-based curriculum, and implementing policies that support the capacity building of educators. With the right strategies, Islamic education management can address modern-era challenges and enhance learning quality.
