The Role of the Internal Quality Assurance System in Enhancing Accountability and Transparency

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of technology implementation in education management on accountability and transparency in higher education. Rapidly developing information technology provides opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the education administration system, which in turn can improve accountability and transparency in higher education institutions. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with case studies in several universities in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the application of technology, such as management information systems, digital learning platforms, and e-administration, has a positive impact on increasing transparency in education management, allowing easier and faster access to information related to academics and finances. In addition, the use of technology also encourages higher accountability in the management of educational resources, strengthens the evaluation and reporting process, and minimizes the potential for abuse of authority. This study concludes that technology has an important role in creating higher education that is more transparent, accountable, and quality-oriented.
