Implementation of Student Management in Improving Student Discipline: A Case Study at SD Al-Qur’an Darul Ishlah Tulang Bawang

Abstract
This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of student management in improving students’ discipline at SD Alquran Darul Ishlah Tulang Bawang. The background of this research lies in the importance of systematic student management, particularly in shaping discipline as a foundation for learning success and the development of noble character. The main problems examined include: (1) how student management is implemented; (2) how the level of student discipline is achieved; and (3) how the implementation of student management affects the improvement of student discipline. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data are collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principals for curriculum and student affairs, tahfidz teachers, and classroom teachers, supported by observations of students’ daily activities and documentation of character-building programs. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results show that student management at SD Alquran Darul Ishlah is implemented through educational approaches and habituation of Islamic values, with regular activities such as Quran recitation, congregational prayers, memorization sessions, and weekly character themes. The level of student discipline is considered high, as reflected in punctual attendance, adherence to school rules, and independence in fulfilling responsibilities. The implementation of student management proves effective in enhancing students’ discipline because it is consistently carried out, involves all school components, and is supported by active parental participation.
