PALEMBANG PADA MASA PENJAJAHAN INGGRIS (1811-1816): HEGEMONI INGGRIS ATAS KESULTANAN PALEMBANG DARUSSALAM

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how British hegemony was over the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate. The method used is a qualitative research method, emphasizing data collection, analysis, and interpretation. This study uses a historical or historical approach. The focus of this research examines the influence of the British who controlled Palembang with various strategies carried out by Raffles so that he was able to control the government in the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate, as well as the efforts of the Sultan of Palembang to face various threats that came from England. The existence of betrayal and pitting against each other by the British made Palembang never free from problems until finally Palembang was re-occupied by the Dutch colonialists.
