CONTENT ANALYSIS OF DEPARTMENT STUDENT NEWS MANUFACTURES STATE VOCATIONAL SCHOOL 5 TELEVISION BROADCASTING PRODUCTION PALEMBANG

Abstract

In this research thesis entitled "Content Analysis of Student News Manuscripts
Production of Television Broadcasts at SMK Negeri 5 Palembang. Mass media is media
capable of providing the dissemination of information flow widely and quickly. Education
Vocational High School is a school that prioritizes development
the ability of students to be able to have abilities in certain types of work
such as a journalist, newsreader (Newsanchor), director, and cameraman,
graduates of this department are expected to have the ability to create mass media
quality. The formulation of the research problem is how to write skills
news script of students majoring in Television Broadcast Production (PSPT) SMK Negeri 5
Palembang and the efforts made by schools to improve writing skills
students, while the purpose of this study was to determine the ability of class students
XI PSPT SMK Negeri 5 Palembang in writing news scripts and to find out
efforts made by schools in improving students' ability to write
news script. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research.
Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation,
The data sources for this research were class XI students majoring in PSPT, mass communication teachers and
head of program. Data analysis technique using content analysis
using the Holstic theory. The results of this study are that students have been able to make
news script, in accordance with news script writing techniques, for the type of news that
made by students is a type of news report directly about an event (straight
news) then for the development efforts carried out by the school, namely first
prepare teaching staff according to the needs of the department, secondly with
providing adequate internet facilities, thirdly providing a room (laboratory
and school cinema), fourth facilitated to participate in various competitions, and
