KH AHMAD NAWAWI DENCIK DALAM PERKEMBANG ISLAM DI PALEMBANG TAHUN 1992-2021

Abstract

This research is entitled "Contribution of KH. Kgs. Ahmad Nawawi Dencik Al-Hafizh in the Development of Islam in Palembang (1992-2021)”. Kiai Nawawi is known as a great scholar who dedicated his life to studying and practicing the teachings of the Koran, most of his life was spent studying the Koran. He not only read and memorized the Al-Qur'an, but also deepened his understanding of the meaning contained in it. The first problem formulation of this research is the biography of Kiai Nawawi Dencik. Second, how did KH Ahmad Nawawi Dencik contribute to the development of Islam in Palembang. The data sources are primary and secondary data. Primary data are interviews conducted with his wife, children and figures who had direct contact with Kiai Nawawi Dencik. Meanwhile, secondary data is written data such as books and relevant references. The theory used in this research is role theory. This type of research is qualitative research using historical methods and a life history approach. The historical method is the process of critically examining and analyzing records and relics of the past. By using historical research methods, we try to reconstruct as much as possible from the human past. After conducting research, it can be concluded that Kiai Nawawi Dencik's contribution to the development of Islam in Palembang can be divided into two sub-discussions, namely: the field of Da'wah and the field of education. In the field of Da'wah through lectures held at the Palembang Grand Mosque or being invited to weddings to give sermons at weddings, in the field of education Kiai Nawawi Dencik built Islamic boarding schools (Establishing the Ahlul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Palembang, Al-Lathifiyah Islamic Boarding School in Palembang and STIQ Al-Lathifiyah) Kiai Nawawi plays an important role in producing a generation of memorizers of the Koran
