PONDOK PESANTREN MODERN AL-MANAR MUHAMMADIYAH BOARDING SCHOOL: SEJARAH DAN KONTRIBUSINYA TERHADAP MASYARAKAT DESA KEPAYANG

Abstract

This study describes the History and Contribution of the Al-Manar Modern Islamic Boarding School to the Kepayang Village community, Lempuing District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency Qualitatively. This study focuses on answering the following questions: [1] How is the History of the Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Boarding School Modern Islamic Boarding School in Kepayang Village and [2] How is the Contribution of the Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Boarding School Modern Islamic Boarding School to the Kepayang Village community. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data sources used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Primary sources come from the Head of the Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Boarding School Modern Islamic Boarding School, Teachers of the Al-Manar Modern Islamic Boarding School, and the Kepayang Village community. Secondary sources come from research reports, books, archives, and so on. The results of the study indicate that the Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School has a significant role in improving the quality of education in Kepayang Village. In addition, this Islamic boarding school also contributes in the social and economic fields, such as community empowerment through various skills training and small business development. This contribution not only has an impact on improving the welfare of the village community, but also strengthens religious values and morality in the midst of society. Thus, the Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School not only functions as an educational center, but also as an agent of social change that plays an active role in the development of the Kepayang Village community.
