Abstract

This study explains about "The Mabajulompo Tradition in the Use of Jewelry by Bugis Hajj Pilgrims After Returning from the Hajj Pilgrimage (Case Study in Sungai Semut Village, Makarti Jaya District, Banyuasin Regency)". The main problem of this study consists of How Mabajulompo is in the Use of Jewelry by Bugis Hajj Pilgrims After Returning from the Hajj Pilgrimage in Sungai Semut Village, Makarti Jaya District, Banyuasin Regency and What are the Functions and Meanings contained in the Mabajulompo Tradition in the use of jewelry by Bugis Hajj pilgrims after returning from the Hajj Pilgrimage. Data Sources used in this study include primary data sources obtained through observation, documentation and direct interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders,village heads and other communities. The secondary data sources are obtained through books, theses, journals and articles related to this study. The research method used is a qualitative research method in which data analysis is carried out descriptively. In the practice of managing, interpreting, and describing data on the Mabajulompo Tradition, it is descriptive qualitative.

 

The results of this study show that the Mabajulompo Tradition Mabajulompo in the Use of Jewelry by Bugis Hajj Pilgrims After Returning from the Hajj Pilgrimage (Case Study in Sungai Semut Village, Makarti Jaya District, Banyuasin Regency) is still maintained amidst the progress of the times. The Mabajulompo Tradition is part of the traditional clothing culture known as baju turung, which has been passed down from generation to generation and worn by Bugis Hajj pilgrims when they return to Indonesia. Bugis Hajj clothing is not only just clothing for Hajj pilgrims, but can also be used as everyday clothing such as wedding events and Mandre Temme (Qhatam qur'an) events H-1 Wedding receptions, and is a deep expression of religious and cultural identity, as well as the values of togetherness and honor in the Bugis community. These findings provide new insights into understanding the importance of Hajj clothing as an inseparable part of the cultural heritage and spirituality of the Bugis people.
