Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) provides a vital forum for exchanging ideas in order to enrich the theory, policy, and practices of Islamic education in Indonesia and around the world. Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education is a biannual, open access, peer-reviewed, and international e-journal, published in Indonesia. We accept unpublished, high quality, and original research manuscripts in English, resulting primarily from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodology related to or associated with Islamic education.  These issues include, but not limited to, practices, policies, and research in Islamic education from early childhood education to higher education which cover the areas of  instruction, learning, teaching, curriculum development, educational policy, language education and policy, bilingual education, multicultural education, art education, teacher education, educational technology, educational developments, educational psychology, and international education in Indonesia and other parts of the world.

| Focus and Scope |

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) accepts unpublished, high quality, and original research manuscripts in English, resulting primarily from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodology related to or associated with Islamic education.  These issues include, but not limited to, practices, policies, and research in Islamic education from early childhood education to higher education which cover the areas of  instruction, learning, teaching, curriculum development, educational policy, language education and policy, bilingual education, multicultural education, art education, teacher education, educational technology, educational developments, educational psychology, and international education in Indonesia and other parts of the world.

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere.

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) does not publish book reviews, program evaluations or research articles merely explaining programs, courses, or personal experiences. All research articles submitted must be written in English.

|Peer Review Process|

Research articles or Manuscripts submitted to Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the Ta’dib focus and scope and for the writing quality. Only those research articles meeting the Ta’dib focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double blind review. Review time is typically 4-6 months. Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees upon the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles by using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all the information in the research articles as confidential. Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to Ta’dib editors to make a final decision on the research articles. Final decision always belongs to Ta’dib editors. Those manuscripts that are judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external reviews.

The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:

|Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary)|  

|Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary)|

|Reject (the paper is not suitable for publication)|

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education is published 2 times per year (June and December) in English by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, State Islamic University of Raden Fatah Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. All research articles appearing in Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) have undergone a thoroughly blind peer-review. There are two versions of publication; print out (p) with ISSN: 1410-6973 and electronic (e) with E-ISSN: 2443-2512.

|Archiving|

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restorationhttps://www.lockss.org/

Ta’dib: Journal of Islamic Education (Jurnal Pendidikan Islam) provides direct open access to its content. Our publisher, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, State Islamic University of Raden Fatah Palembang, agrees to the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access:

“By “open access” to [peer-reviewed research literature], we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
