Removal of Educational Facilities and Infrastructure at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang

Abstract
This study aims to understand the process of eliminating facilities and infrastructure, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in this process. The researcher employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The key informant in this study was the vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, while the supporting informants were the school principal and the head of administration. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, the researcher used techniques such as increasing persistence and triangulation, which included source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the elimination of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang has been adequately implemented. The process is carried out by the vice principal for facilities and infrastructure in direct coordination with the school principal and the disposal team, including the school janitor. The individuals responsible for this task are those with expertise in their respective areas, ensuring the process runs effectively. The elimination process is categorized into four methods: selling, exchanging, donating, and burning. However, the school only applies two methods donation and burning because the items to be discarded are no longer usable and have no resale value, making selling or exchanging ineffective. The supporting factors include human resources and allocated funds, while the inhibiting factor is the limited time available.
