Pengaruh Peran Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah Terhadap Kinerja Guru Di Sma Unggul Islam Al-Fahd Banyuasin

Abstract
Principal leadership is one of the strategic factors that influence the improvement of teacher performance in achieving educational quality. This study aims to analyze the effect of the principal’s leadership role on teacher performance at SMA Unggul Islam Al-Fahd Banyuasin. The research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The research population consisted of all 23 teachers at SMA Unggul Islam Al-Fahd Banyuasin, using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The principal leadership variable was measured using the indicators of educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator, while teacher performance was measured through pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS, including prerequisite analysis tests, simple regression analysis, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that principal leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, as evidenced by a t-value of 3.739, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.080, and a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.400 indicates that principal leadership contributes 40% to teacher performance, while the remaining 60% is influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that the more effective the principal’s leadership role, the higher the level of teacher performance in carrying out their professional duties.
