Abstract
This study explores the semantic meanings in Mahmoud Darwish's poem "Ila Ummi." The analysis delves into three specific types of meaning: lexical, grammatical, and referential. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the lexical, grammatical, and referential meanings in "Ila Ummi." The data collection involves meticulous reading and note-taking of the poem to identify the semantic elements. Data analysis is conducted through data presentation, reduction, and conclusion drawing. The study aims to reveal how Darwish uses language creatively to express deep emotions and themes related to homeland, identity, and resistance. This study highlights the importance of semantic analysis in uncovering the nuanced layers of meaning in poetic texts.
