Abstract

Assessments carried out by teachers to measure students' abilities generally only focus on the knowledge aspect, and skills assessments are rarely used as the main focus for measuring students' thinking abilities. After the initial observations were made, the results showed that students in class IXA SMPN 4 Talang Kelapa had problem solving abilities that were in the lower category. This study aims to determine the use of the Mind Map-assisted Brain-Based Learning model to improve the problem solving skills of Class IX A students at SMPN 4 Talang Kelapa in narrative text materials. This type of research is Classroom Action Research, following the syntax of Kurt Lewin.
