Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of infrastructure in an effort to improve the quality of educational institutions at SMP Negeri 6 Loa Janan Kukar. The research focuses on the processes of planning, procurement, and maintenance of educational infrastructure, as well as their relationship to the quality of learning in the school. Effective infrastructure management is believed to be one of the key factors in creating a conducive learning environment and enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The informants in this study consisted of the principal, vice principal in charge of infrastructure, teachers, administrative staff, and students. The results of the study show that infrastructure planning is carried out systematically and participatively, taking into account existing conditions, short- and long-term needs, and budget availability. Infrastructure procurement focuses on providing representative learning facilities that support 21st-century learning, such as modern laboratories and technology facilities. The procurement process involves various parties and utilizes funding sources from DAK (Special Allocation Fund), BOS (School Operational Assistance), APBD (Regional Budget), and community support. The study also found that well-planned and sustainable infrastructure management can enhance learning comfort, teacher motivation, and community participation. Overall, the results of this research provide a comprehensive overview of the strategies and practices of infrastructure management, which can serve as a reference for schools, local governments, and stakeholders in formulating policies to improve education quality through sustainable and effective school infrastructure development.
