Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the storytelling method on the expressive language skills of children aged 5-6 years at RA Perwanida 4 Palembang. This study used a pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and documentation, with data analysis through normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing involving 15 children. The results showed a significant increase in children's expressive language skills after storytelling treatment, with a tcount value of 41.748 and a table of 2.144. The storytelling method can be used as an effective learning strategy in developing early childhood language skills. Storytelling activities can be used as an alternative to learning in the stimulation of language development, especially expressive language in children.
